INSERT MOLDING
Insert molding is a technique in which one or more insert components is placed into the injection mold prior to molding, and then the melted plastic material mold around the insert and fills the mold. This injection method can result in products with higher overall stability and bonding strength with the insert components. At Shenyuann, insert molding is a very commonly used technique and we can insert multiple metal or plastic components onto the injection molds. Our dedicated engineers work closely with customers to provide the options to modify the molds in order to meet the specification requirements, such as the insert components' pull/push force tolerance, bonding strength, and cosmetic quality. Shenyann is very capable in adding inserts for single injection and double injection, and has products that can pass IPX7/8 waterproof standards. We also consider the most cost efficient method of production, such as making custom fixtures for placing multiple insert components on the mold at the same time, to further reduce the injection cycle time. Insert molding is a value-added process that benefits complex assemblies to become more manufacturable and reducing assembly time.
